Overview 'Breaking the Cycle' is a series of lessons that are designed to be used with an interactive whiteboard but can also be used on a projector or even on a large screen. They are extremely easy to use and have proved themselves to be a very rich experience for pupils. It covers important areas surrounding drug education in ways that are relavant to Key Stage 2 and 3. The lessons are filled with source materials that include interactive slides, photographs, videos and even games. Content The lessons contain a whole class presentation which lasts approximately 50 minutes and they are discussion based to encourage an open and honest atmosphere. There is also plenty of scope for follow-on activities. The lesson outlines are set out below:
Ease of Use Each lesson is a series of multi-media slides. You simply click on a star to move forwards or click on the back button to go back. Lesson notes guide you through each slide and present background information for your class. Preparation time is therefore kept to a minimum as all of the lesson materials are supplied with the software. The lessons very much run themselves but are greatly enriched by your personal knowledge of your class, giving a much more valued experience than say just a set of videos. |
