Sometimes we as parents seem to do everything right but our children still misuse drugs and alcohol Quote from a parent.

A feeling we are sure that will be voiced by many.  In this day and age all young people are at risk. A mixture of  reasons and events can happen together which can lead to young people misusing drugs and alcohol.  Experts believe that between eighty five and ninety five percent of teenagers will try alcohol and other drugs just to see the affect it has on them.  We must learn why our children may begin to use drugs and alcohol to stop this happening to them. We at Yorkshire Band of Hope Union constantly strive in trying to make everyone aware of the dangers that we can all face when dealing with drugs either in its smallest form to something that can overwhelm us.  We hope through our work to challenge, inspire and encourage you that together we can do something about the effects of drugs and alcohol on this generation. We have drug awareness sessions and courses for parents/carers, adults, professionals, organisations and all types of groups and clubs. We also run drug awareness stalls in the community and schools. Topics covered include:

  • What is a drug?
  • The Law
  • The drugs, how they are used and what they do
  • Signs and symptoms of drug use.
  • County Lines
  • What can you do and where to get help

All the courses and sessions are interactive and there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions. If you are interested in using Yorkshire Band of Hope to assist you in your drug awareness training please feel free to contact us.
